Police and Central Forces Surround Bulldozer, Office of Abhishek Banerjee Being Demolished in Amtala

**Amtala, South 24 Parganas:** Under tight security, the administration began demolition work at the office of All India General Secretary of Trinamool Congress and MP from Diamond Harbour, Abhishek Banerjee, on Saturday morning. A large number of police and central forces have been deployed at the site. The fire department has also been kept on standby. The commencement of demolition work with a bulldozer on a part of the office has created significant excitement in the area.

According to administration sources, notices were sent on June 30 for the first time and on July 7 for the second time, seeking clarification regarding the construction-related documents and necessary approvals for the office. Additionally, instructions were given to appear at the district administration office on July 15 to respond. However, the administration claims that no response was received within the stipulated time, and the concerned parties did not appear at the administration office.

Following this, the district administration decided to take strict action. From Saturday morning, guardrails were installed around the office to create a security perimeter. Several senior officials of the administration were present at the site. Shortly thereafter, a bulldozer was brought in, and the demolition work commenced.

The administration claims that the land on which the office is built was purchased under the name 'Lips and Bounds'. It is also claimed that the name of Abhishek Banerjee's father, Amit Banerjee, is mentioned in the land documents. The administration stated that the notice was sent to seek clarification regarding this information and documents.

However, this incident has sparked a strong political debate. While some opposition members claim the administration's actions are lawful, it is believed that the Trinamool Congress may label these actions as politically motivated.

To prevent any unpleasant situation arising from the incident, security measures have been further strengthened. The demolition work is ongoing under the supervision of the administration, and strict monitoring of the situation is being maintained.
