Massive 15-Foot Python Captured in Agricultural Land of West Medinipur, Crowds Gather Despite Rain

Chandrakona, West Medinipur: A massive 15-foot long python was rescued in the Madhavpur Kumorpara area adjacent to Thakur Bari market in Chandrakona municipality of West Medinipur district, creating a significant stir amidst heavy rain. Many people gathered to catch a glimpse of the python, ignoring the rain.

According to local sources, the python got trapped in a net in an agricultural field on Monday morning. The farmers and local residents were initially alarmed upon seeing the snake. As news spread quickly, many people from nearby areas flocked to the scene.

There was both curiosity and concern surrounding the massive python in the area. Local residents demanded swift action from the forest department. Upon receiving the news, forest department personnel arrived at the scene and began the rescue operation.

After several hours of effort, the forest workers were able to safely rescue the python. The snake was then taken into custody by the forest department. According to forest department sources, the python will be released into a suitable natural environment after necessary health checks and observation.

Experts suggest that during the monsoon, rising water levels and changes in natural habitats often lead wild animals to venture into human settlements. Therefore, it is advised not to panic in such situations and to inform the forest department.
