Tourist Stranded in Turbulent Sea Rescued in Bakkhali After 20 Minutes

**Bakkhali, August 27:** A tourist found himself in trouble after ignoring the administration's warning and entering the turbulent sea for a swim early in the morning. He began to drown after being swept far from the shore by the strong ebb tide. Civil defense personnel rescued him after a breathless 20-minute effort. The incident caused a stir in Bakkhali, South 24 Parganas.

According to administration sources, a group of eight tourists from North 24 Parganas had come to Bakkhali for a visit. Due to the rough sea, civil defense had been warning tourists not to venture into deep water since morning. It was alleged that despite the warning, a member of the group, Uday Bairagya (53), went into deep water.

At that time, the sea was experiencing low tide. Suddenly, he was swept far from the shore by the strong current and began to drown. Realizing the danger, Uday waved his hands in fear and started shouting for help. As soon as the situation was noticed, civil defense personnel quickly jumped into the sea.

Due to the rough sea, the rescue operation faced significant challenges. After nearly 20 minutes of effort, he was finally rescued from the water. After the rescue, he was given first aid on the beach.

Upon receiving the news, the police from the Fraserganj Coastal Police Station arrived at the scene. The ailing tourist was rescued and taken to the local health center. He is currently receiving treatment there.

The administration has once again warned tourists about the sea conditions. They have specifically requested that no one should enter deep water during low tide and rough sea conditions.
