Inhumane Scene at Malda Medical! Young Man Tied with Chains Dragged Away by Relatives, Allegations of Beating with Shoes

**Malda:** Shocking and inhumane scenes have emerged in front of Malda Medical College and Hospital. Allegations have been made against family members for dragging a 26-year-old young man tied with chains. It is also alleged that when the young man tried to resist, he was beaten with shoes. Although his sister was present, she reportedly did not intervene at all during the incident.

It is known that Sarikul Islam (26), the younger son of Nurul Haque, a resident of the Mahishbathani area of Old Malda, has been suffering from mental issues since birth, according to the family. Family members noticed abnormal behavior in him from the age of just seven months. Later, he was taken to Ranchi for treatment. However, the family claims that there has been no significant improvement in his condition despite prolonged treatment.

Family sources further revealed that Sarikul had gone missing for about ten days nearly seven years ago. Since that incident, family members have kept a close watch on him. Their concern increased as they wanted to ensure he wouldn't get lost when going outside.

On the day in question, family members brought Sarikul to Malda Medical College Hospital. It is reported that he was brought to the hospital to complete necessary work for a disability certificate. However, the family claims that he could not be controlled in any way after arriving at the hospital.

Subsequently, family members tied him with chains. Allegations have arisen that he was dragged through the hospital premises in that condition. It is also alleged that when the young man tried to resist, he was beaten with shoes. Many present at the scene expressed their anger upon witnessing the incident.

However, Sarikul's family stated that they were compelled to use chains not with the intention of torturing him, but to keep him under control. They claim that due to his long-standing mental issues, family members have become practically helpless.

The video or scenes of this incident that have come to light at Malda Medical College have already raised questions—Is tying a young man suffering from mental issues with chains and beating him really a solution? No statement has been received from the hospital authorities or the administration regarding the incident. Locals believe that a thorough investigation into the complete details of the incident and the family's situation is necessary.
