Shomeek Bhattacharya mourns the passing of Nana Patekar, BJP speaks out on the attack at Bikash Bhattacharya's house

**Siliguri:** State BJP president Shomeek Bhattacharya expressed deep sorrow over the passing of actor Nana Patekar. On Thursday, he held a meeting with district leadership at the BJP office in Siliguri organizational district. After the meeting, he reminisced about Nana Patekar while speaking to reporters.

Shomeek Bhattacharya said, **Nana Patekar was an extremely talented and sensitive actor.** He was closely connected with the common people, even outside the conventional star culture of the film world. He also tried to stand by the people. His passing is a significant loss for the Indian cultural world, Shomeek commented.

On the same day, the BJP state president also reacted to the allegations of throwing bottles at the house of CPI(M) leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya. He stated that he does not have detailed information about the incident. However, if the allegations are true, such attacks are highly condemnable, Shomeek remarked.

He stated, **Those who have committed such acts have done wrong.** At the same time, raising his voice against the Trinamool government, Shomeek alleged that a class of criminals has emerged in society during the long tenure of governance.

However, he also commented that the personal rivalry or resentment from anti-social elements behind the attack on Bikash Bhattacharya's house cannot be completely ruled out. He hinted that the matter will become clearer once more detailed information about the incident comes to light.
