Allegations of Not Receiving Benefits from Annapurna Scheme, Women Block Road in Durgapur in Front of SDIO Office

**Durgapur:** A group of women protested by blocking the road in front of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) office in Durgapur, alleging that they have been deprived of the benefits of the Annapurna scheme. This incident caused a stir in the area on Thursday.

The protesting women claimed that during the previous government, they received benefits from the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme. However, under the current government, they are being deprived of the benefits of the Annapurna scheme. They expressed their anger over why they are not receiving the benefits of government schemes despite being eligible.

In protest against the allegations, the women blocked the road in front of the SDO office for nearly 30 minutes on Thursday. As a result, traffic in the area was disrupted, causing inconvenience to the general public and daily commuters.

Upon receiving the news, the police from New Township reached the scene. Police officials spoke with the protesters and tried to convince them to lift the blockade. Ultimately, with police intervention, the women lifted the blockade, and traffic gradually returned to normal.

The protesters claimed that if they are deprived of the benefits of the Annapurna scheme, they will inform the administration again. They also stated that they will approach the administration in the future to demand the benefits of the scheme.

Their question is, why are they not receiving benefits despite being eligible for government schemes? They want a clear explanation from the administration.
