**Howrah:** A significant success for the Howrah City Police. After tracking down an organized bike theft ring, the police arrested two individuals. So far, 13 stolen bikes have been recovered through interrogation of the arrested suspects. The bikes were recovered from a garage in the Shyampur police station area of Howrah Rural last night. Investigators are looking into whether anyone else is involved in this incident.
Today, Howrah City Police DCP (DD) Rahul Mishra, IPS, held a press conference in his office chamber to announce this success. According to police sources, incidents of bike theft had been occurring one after another in the Howrah Commissionerate area for the past few months. Police officials began investigating whether an organized gang was behind these thefts.
### Investigation Initiated from Bike Theft Complaint in Domjur
According to police sources, a bike theft complaint was filed at Domjur police station about two weeks ago. Based on that complaint, the Howrah City Police's DD team initiated an investigation. Investigators moved forward based on the leads from the theft incident. Subsequently, two individuals were arrested on charges of being involved in this incident.
The arrested individuals are identified as SK Masibul alias Menu and Monirul Hossain Molla. Police sources indicate that SK Masibul's residence is in Kulgachia, while Monirul Hossain Molla resides in Uluberia. After their arrest, the police began interrogation while they were in custody. During the interrogation, multiple leads regarding bike theft emerged, according to police sources.
### 13 Bikes Recovered from Shyampur Garage
Based on information obtained from the arrested individuals, the police conducted searches in various locations. Following that lead, a raid was conducted last night at Monirul's garage in the Shyampur police station area, where a total of 13 stolen bikes were recovered.
The recovery of such a large number of bikes has created a stir. In the preliminary investigation, the police are examining the possibility of an organized gang being involved in the bike thefts. Investigators are trying to determine from which areas the recovered bikes were stolen, who their owners are, and how the arrested individuals are connected to the theft incidents.
### Previous Bike Theft Cases Against the Arrested
Police sources have also revealed that SK Masibul alias Menu has previous cases of bike theft against him. Investigators are reviewing his past criminal record. They are looking into whether he was involved in any previous bike theft incidents or if there is any connection between the recovered bikes and old cases.
Additionally, the investigation is also focusing on whether anyone else is connected to this gang. Investigators are examining all aspects, including where the bikes were kept after being stolen, how they were transported from one place to another, and whether there were any plans for selling them.
### Police in Search of a Larger Gang
In recent months, there has been growing concern over bike theft incidents in the Howrah Commissionerate area. In this context, the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of 13 bikes based on a complaint from Domjur is considered a significant success in the police investigation.
However, it is still under investigation whether the recovered bikes are connected to any other theft incidents. Efforts are ongoing to gather more information about this gang by interrogating the arrested individuals and verifying the documents of the recovered bikes.
Overall, the Howrah City Police's operation has raised claims of exposing the bike theft ring. While two individuals have been arrested and 13 bikes recovered, investigators are now focused on determining who else is involved in this gang and whether there are any more bike theft incidents linked to them.
