Minister Agnimitra Paul Inspects Damodar Bhutnath Ghat Ahead of Chhath Puja, Focus on Security and Infrastructure

Asansol: Preparations are in full swing ahead of Chhath Puja. To ensure the convenience and safety of devotees, the state Minister of Municipal Affairs and Urban Development, Agnimitra Paul, inspected various Chhat ghats in Asansol. She personally reviewed on-site whether all arrangements at the ghats were in order before the puja. On this day, the minister visited Bhutnath Ghat near the Damodar river in Ward 97 of Asansol Municipal Corporation.

Municipal Commissioner Dilip Mishra, the sub-divisional magistrate and several officials of Asansol Municipal Corporation accompanied the minister during the inspection. They reviewed the current condition of the ghat, repair work, cleanliness, and the infrastructure facilities required for Chhath devotees.

Thousands of devotees gather at ghats along rivers and water bodies during Chhath Puja. Therefore, managing crowds, preventing accidents, and ensuring the safety of devotees are major challenges for the administration. Keeping this in mind, the minister discussed with officials the steps needed to further strengthen security at the ghats and issued instructions accordingly. In particular, the installation of CCTV cameras at the ghat and increased surveillance were discussed with emphasis.

She also stressed the need to pay special attention so that no unpleasant situation arises on Chhath days. She discussed various important matters, including lighting at the ghat, cleanliness, and convenient access for devotees.

Apart from Damodar Bhutnath Ghat, Agnimitra Paul also inspected several other Chhat ghats in Asansol. She reviewed the situation together with administrative officials, aiming to complete all necessary work before the puja.

Observers believe that the administration's proactive steps are very important for conducting Chhath Puja smoothly and in an orderly manner. Now, people will be keenly watching how quickly all the repair, cleanliness, and security work at the ghats is completed before the puja.
