Hawkers Barred from Digha Sea Beach! Administration Takes Major Decision for Tourist Convenience
Digha: The number of tourists is increasing in Digha. To manage this crowd and ensure easy travel for tourists, the administration has taken a major decision. From now on, hawkers will not be allowed to do business on the Digha sea beach. It has been decided to keep the beach free of hawkers. Administration officials have said this order will be enforced from Tuesday onwards.
According to administration sources, travel facilities to Digha have improved considerably in recent times. As a result, the number of tourists is growing every day. Especially with Kali Puja coming up, followed by Christmas and English New Year, the administration believes the crowd of tourists in Digha will increase further during this festive season. Keeping this in mind, the decision has been taken to stop hawkers' business on the sea beach.
The administration claims that some hawkers were doing business right at the sea beach. After buying food and other items from them, tourists were throwing used packets and garbage on the beach itself. This was making the environment of the seashore dirty. Moreover, it was creating problems for the normal movement of tourists.
Administration officials hope that if the beach remains free of hawkers, travel for tourists will become easier, and at the same time the cleanliness of the sea beach can be maintained.
Tourists visiting Digha have welcomed the administration's initiative. Members of the Digha Shankarpur Hoteliers Association have also supported this decision.
This step by the administration aims to make the Digha sea beach cleaner, more beautiful and tourist-friendly ahead of the tourist season. However, attention will now be focused on how this decision affects the livelihoods of hawkers who ran businesses on the beach.
